About Us

Our History

In response to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF) adopted at the CBD COP15, the Lesotho Ministry of Environment and Forestry has initiated a project titled “Global Biodiversity Framework - Early Action Support” (GBF-EAS).

Our Vision

Identifying and mitigating risks to our ecosystems. Providing data-driven insights and monitoring protocols to guide decision-making.. Promoting sustainable use of biodiversity while ensuring fair benefits for local communities.

Our Future

This project aims to revise the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan to align national targets with the KM-GBF's 23 targets for 2030. We emphasize the importance of spatially explicit baseline information, including species lists, land use changes, and vegetation cover assessments, to prioritize resources effectively.
